I just love the Zoo and its a great place to bring in the New Year with the whole family! New Year's Eve Family Countdown at the Zoo will feature animal visits, keeper talks, entertainment by the Decades, Majinx Magic Show,a kids' countdown and more. The Nutcracker



This is so lovely and worth seeing at least once in your lifetime. The National Ballet of Canada presents its annual Christmas Show, The Nutcracker, from December 18, 2013 - January 04, 2014at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. Tickets range from $25 to $409 and the audience is always all ages. I have never seen this but I have heard that there is a Story time  reading of the classic Nutcracker story that takes place an hour before the show starts. It is free to all ticket holders.

The Sound of Music


I love, love, love this movie. It is a classic and this event looks like fun! The Sound of Music features some of the most memorable songs in cinema history. From December 26-28 the Tiff Bell Light Box will be showing this fantastic fil,. The screening will include the lyrics to songs like “Do-Re-Mi,” “My Favorite Things,” and “So Long, Farewell.” Prices are $22.75, Senior/Student: $20, Child: $17.50. Christmas At Kortright will have horse-drawn wagon rides, Santa's workshop, treats and more. Christmas Tree's in Toronto



I just loved this article from Toronto.com about where one can buy their Christmas tree in Toronto (see below). We used to go out Taylor's tree farm and loved the tractor rides and hot chocolate. Dress warmly and bring cash for the tree. They can run up to $75 or more depending on the species.

This is one of my favorite events and I'm sure everyone in the family will love it. There is always tons to see! One Of A Kind Christmas Show & Sale features handmade gifts from more than 800 Canadian artisans. How cool is this?!?! The Shops at Don Mills train is still chugging through the holidays! My grandson will be so happy! Tickets will be sold at Guest Services for $3  per person per ride with net proceeds to the Toronto Fire Fighters' Toy Drive! The best of both worlds in my opinion! The Gourmet Food & Wine Expo allows you to sample food, wines, beers and spirits from around the globe. It's that time of year again! Music On The Donway 2013-2014 Season presents a very special pre-Christmas concert ‘A Charles Dickens’ Klezmas Carol’, with the joyous music of the Klezmas Band as they perform Christmas carol renditions and narrate the famous Charles Dickens’“Christmas Carol” story, featuring Sharon Smith: vocals, Daniel Rubinoff: woodwinds, Garry Page: brass, Jordan Klapman: piano and Arti Roth: bass, on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 7:30 p.m., at the Donway Covenant United Church, 230 The Donway West (Lawrence Ave. and Don Mills Road), Don Mills. I will be at this fantastic event hosted by the North York General Hospital Foundation. The Heart of Fashion is a fashion show with entertainment by Karl Wolf, cocktails and gourmet food will help raise funds for a mental health outpatient facility. Halloween Haunt



Canada's Wonderland is putting on a scary event for adults! Ten horrific mazes including The Ruins and Sci-Fi House, scare zones, live shows, hair-raising rides, undead spirits and monsters lurking in the shadows. Not recommended for children! Millar Team Pumpkin Event



Join us this Sunday October 20 2013 from 11am-1pm for our annual Pumpkin Food Drive Event.  We will have a pumpkin patch, games and refreshments will be served while quantities last.  Please bring a non-perishable food item to receive a free pumpkin. All donations will be given to the Community Share Food Bank. The event will take place at 200 Three Valleys Drive (all the way at the end of Three Valleys Drive). Costumes are optional!

This sounds delicious!!!! The Chilean Wine Festival will have wine tastings and Chilean cuisine October 8 from 7-9:30 pm at the Royal Ontario Musuem (100 Queen's Park). Tickets are $75.
