Where to Watch The Hip In Toronto

Sadly, the Hips final tour is coming to and end. They will be playing their last show in Kingston Ontario on August 20 at 8:30 pm.  Tickets all sold out without minutes but The Hip graciously opened up their final show to all Torontonians and Canadians via television and radio! Can you believe it? Amazing right???  Here is a list of where you you can watch them on August 20.
  • CNE Bandshell:
The concert will be shown at the Canadian National Exhibition’s Bandshell stage at 8:30 p.m., immediately following a concert by Jefferson Starship that begins at 5 p.m. Free with admission to the CNE grounds.
  • Carlton Cinema, 20 Carlton St., at Yonge St.:
Carlton Cinemas will be screening a free live broadcast of the concert at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are available in person at their box office and they will be accepting donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
  • Hot Docs Cinema, 506 Bloor St. W.:
Tickets for this event are free and available at the box office. The limit is two per person though, so be warned. Members of Hot Docs can access tickets online by signing in with their membership number.
  • The Revue Theatre, 400 Roncesvalles Ave.:
Doors open at 7 p.m. and admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Before the live broadcast at 8:30 p.m., there will be a Canadian music trivia contest with prizes to be won.
  • Sorauren Park, 289 Sorauren Ave.:
If theatres aren’t your thing, why not enjoy New Orleans from a Toronto park? Sorauren Park Town Square will be broadcasting the final show on a big outdoor screen. You’re encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and some dancing shoes.
  • The Horseshoe Tavern, 370 Queen St. W.:
Like a little beer with your Hip? Don’t worry, the Horseshoe Tavern has you covered. The show will be broadcast in the live room on the giant screen. The event is free but doors open at 7 p.m., so it would be wise to arrive early.
  • Junction City Music Hall, 2907 Dundas St. W.:
The concert will be streamed on the big screen and while there is no cover charge, they will be accepting donations with all the proceeds going toward Sunnybrook Hospital’s Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research.
Enjoy!
Karen
